Bonni Norwood is the newest member of the Spring Lake Township Board of Trustees after being appointed during the board’s meeting on Jan. 22.
Norwood has lived in Spring Lake Township for about 14 years and has served on various community boards including the New Life Christian School Board, Lakeshore Governance Ministry Board and Immanuel Preschool Board. Norwood is passionate about having a positive impact on families, businesses and tourists in Spring Lake Township, while keeping the area’s small-town, friendly feel.
Norwood lives nearby the former Poel blueberry farm property, where P5 Land Investments plans to build no more than 195 single-family homes over the next two decades. It was a priority to have additional representation from this area, said Spring Lake Township Supervisor Jerry Rabideau.
“We warmly welcome Bonni to the Spring Lake Township Board of Trustees and are looking forward to her service on the board,” Rabideau said. “It was important to me to appoint a passionate and dedicated public servant who has the best interests of our township and its residents in mind.”
The Board of Trustees previously voted to accept the resignation of Trustee Ellen Delarosa Pern. Norwood will serve on the board for the remainder of the term, which ends in 2024.
